When John Cohen got to UK in 2003, he inherited a recruiting class that had two players. That wasn't the program's only problem, though. It also had the Southeastern Conference's most antiquated facilities and most apathetic fans. Yet Cohen managed to overcome all of that and orchestrate a major turnaround of the UK baseball program.

Police: Phone records place man at accident scene

Cell phone records put a Lexington man, who owned a truck police think was involved in a hit-and-run accident that killed a UK freshman, at the scene of the wreck, Lexington police said. Shannon Houser, 36, told police he was at home at 2:30 a.m. on April 13, around the time of the accident that killed Connie Blount, 18, of Park City, Utah. (Post the First Comment)

Tamme first of four Cats taken in draft; Giants pick Woodson in sixth round

Twenty-two hours and 126 picks. That's how long it took before senior tight end Jacob Tamme heard his name called as a fourth-round selection by the Indianapolis Colts during the second day of the NFL draft. In a crop of talented draft-eligible former UK players - including quarterback Andre Woodson, wide receiver Keenan Burton and linebacker Wesley Woodyard - it was Tamme who was the first to be taken in the draft with the 127th pick.
