11,000 celebrate UK's first GameDay

Many college fans believed that ESPN's "College GameDay" would never come to Lexington, for football at least. Those prognosticators never envisioned the scene that surrounded the big orange GameDay bus parked between W.T. Young Library and Rose Street Saturday.

Tennis duo advances to semifinals

This season, for no particular reason, men's tennis coach Dennis Emery chose to switch up the UK men's tennis doubles teams from last year. Freshman Brad Cox, who was tabbed as one of the top recruits in the country before signing with UK, was put with junior Bruno Agostinelli because Emery felt that the two players had a compatible chemistry, Emery said.

Cool Cats drop two straight to Kennesaw State over the weekend

The UK hockey team dropped two close games this weekend, losing 4-3 and 3-2 to Kennesaw State at the Lexington Ice Center. The Cool Cats fell behind 2-0 in Saturday's 3-2 loss after the Owls scored two goals within 44 seconds of each other. UK tried to climb back in the game midway through the third period when junior forward Daniel Ampleford scored the Cool Cats' first goal.
