Foul trouble plagued the UK women’s basketball team on Thursday night and caused them to fall to Baylor 63-90, taking their first loss of the season.

Despite things looking down due to the foul trouble, the Cats started off the first quarter with an impressive field goal percentage. Maci Morris led the team in the first quarter with eight points.
As the second quarter began, Morris started the quarter off with two points but an intentional foul call wiped those points off the board.

During the third quarter, head coach Matthew Mitchell made the decision to put Wyatt and Rice back in the game regardless of foul trouble. Rice didn’t gain any more fouls, but Wyatt picked up two fouls midway through the third quarter, which tallied her total to four.
UK could not find its rhythm in the third quarter and was down by 33 points by the time the clock expired. The Cats missed all 14 attempted shots in the third quarter, at 0/13 from the field and 0/1 beyond the arc. The six points scored during the quarter were free throws.
As the fourth quarter began, Morris answered Baylor by scoring back-to-back threes, making Kentucky’s first buckets of the half.
Morris would make another three later on in the quarter, tallying her points to 22 by the time the game ended.
