Mark Stoops and company haven’t let the COVID-19 Pandemic slow their momentum on the recruiting trail, as the Cats locked down two more players for the 2021 class in the past weeks.

Three-star wide receiver Christian Lewis and three-star linebacker Martez Thrower both announced commitments to the Cats. Lewis’s announcement came on June 30th, while Thrower’s took place on the Fourth of July.

Both future Cats talked with Chad Simmons of Rivals about their decision.

Lewis is from Pleasant Grove, Alabama and plays at Pleasant Grove High School. He has played quarterback as well, according to his profile on Hudl.com

Thrower hails from Rochelle, Georgia and plays for Wilcox County High School. He is an outside linebacker according to Rivals, but has both outside and middle linebacker listed on his Hudl profile.

The two are the 12th and 13th members of Kentucky's 2021 Recruiting Class, which currently ranks 44th in the country according to 247Sports.

Inside linebackers coach Jon Sumrall was the main recruiter listed for both players on Rivals, as he continues to help the Cats gain a bigger presence on the recruiting trail in deeper south.

The "Big Dog" Vince Marrow recognized Sumrall's contributions on Twitter after the Lewis signing.
