14 hours after achieving the ultimate feat and capturing the 2020 - 2021 Volleyball National Championship, Kentucky volleyball was welcomed home with a celebration on their home court Sunday afternoon.
Kentucky defeated Texas 3-1 (20-25, 25-18, 25-23, 25-22) securing the first national championship in program history, the first SEC team to ever achieve the feat.
“This whole trip, it was a business trip,” Allie Stumler said.
Craig Skinner has been named 2020-21 national coach of the year, per the American Volleyball Coaches Association. Madison Lilley was also chosen as the AVCA Division One Player of the Year - the first SEC player in history to do so.
